During a traditional physical therapy appointment, patients spend as little as 15 minutes with a therapist before being handed off to an aide to begin a standardized exercise routine.

I am dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the physical symptoms. The blossoming field of pain science has taught us that pain is a complex experience involving sensory, emotional, and physical factors. Recent fMRI studies have revealed that areas of the brain involved in emotion and memory light up during painful stimuli. There is a great deal of research that now that definitively tells us that the mind and the physical body are indeed connected! I believe in an integrative approach that addresses all aspects of lifestyle, as well as incorporating Eastern medicine's acknowledgment of the mind-body connection.

Unlike traditional physical therapy, which focuses on acute musculoskeletal or neurological conditions, my practice focuses on chronic pain and widespread conditions. My integrative sessions are 50 minutes long and are designed to restore function through manual therapy, gentle movement, and education. I prioritize a comprehensive approach that takes into account the unique needs and goals of each patient, working collaboratively to achieve lasting results.

Our practice is proud to offer discreet, HIPAA-compliant services so no one will ever mention your name. Dr. Steele also offers physical therapy sessions in the privacy of your own home in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

Our Insurance Approach

We do not let the limits of insurance companies affect your most direct path to healing. Our mission is to reach an improvement and eradication of the root cause of your ailments, not just the symptoms.

Because we have a healing mission, our sessions and treatments are led by an integrative approach often not covered in the restricting directives of insurance companies.

We view the cost of your treatment from a different perspective than your insurance company. Living with pain daily is costly, appointment after appointment without relief is a waste of your time, and seeing multiple physical therapists continually seeking a solution to a problem that won't seem to go away can become quite expensive.

Working with Megan is straightforward, 1-on-1, and integrative of all your ailments.

We give you the flexibility to take control of your care because we do not participate or register as In-Network providers with any insurance company. We're able to offer highly customized care plans that are cost-effective, affordable, and most importantly effective.

Benefits of Working with an Out-of-Network Provider:

  • Insurance companies do not dictate the time or frequency we spend on your care

  • Individualized custom integrative physical therapy plan based on all of your unresolved pain and ailments

  • We can find the true root cause of the dysfunction you're experiencing

  • If you've visited multiple care providers, seen different specialists and still have no relief Megan's approach to integrative care can be the solution you've been searching for

The Bottom Line

A receipt with pertinent insurance codes can be supplied to you at the end of the session which may be used towards deductibles or your insurance benefit. You may need to obtain a doctor’s prescription if you wish to utilize your PPO insurance benefits, depending on your policy.

Company Flexible Spending Accounts or FSAs are other great options to pay for sessions.

All Amex, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard Credit Cards are accepted as well as Venmo.

HMO policies DO NOT cover out-of-network providers and unfortunately are not accepted.
